An original Murray’s Aluminum Minnow: the need to closely compare patent drawings to collected lures
The National Fishing Lure Collectors Club Gazette
(2020)
Abstract
This article makes the case that many patented fishing lures are different from their original patent drawings. For example, of the six fishing lures patented and produced in Maine before 1930, the commercially made lures were significantly different than the patent drawings in three cases. Murray's Aluminum Minnow, made in Auburn, Maine during the early 1990s, is used as the primary example of differences that can occur between the commercial versus patented lure.
