Abstract
In Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, Fred E. Bailey and his family made high quality fishing flies and four types of spinners for almost six decades (~1890 to 1948). This articles describes key characteristics allowing tackle collectors and others to place many Bailey products into one of five age classes: 1890-1902, 1903-1912, 1913-1921, 1922-late 1930s, and 1940-1948. In addition to descriptions of these age classes, the articles includes illustrations to help readers determine the approximate age of Bailey flies and spinners.
