Abstract

This partial bibliography documents early fishing and hunting history of Dead River Region of western Maine. Special attention is given to the Megantic Fish and Game Club, a private outdoor sporting club that exists to this day. The noted outdoor photographer, E. R. Starbird, visited the many sporting camps in this region in the late 1800s. Listings of the Starbird photographs for the Dead River Region are presented. Illustrations of the various references covering this region are also given in this bibliography.
