Abstract
The Rangeley fishing spinner was invented and first produced in Maine by Henry O. Stanley (see two previous articles about H. O. Stanley in this website). This article discusses the history of this nationally popular spinner from it's it's inception in the late 1800s to the 1930s, emphasizing early Rangeley Spinners made in Maine. Early makers who are discussed include: Henry O. Stanley, Phillip W. Edwards, William G. Hill, Walter D. Hinds, and Gardiner A. Percy.
