Abstract
This article is a republication of Krohn’s article about Capt. Charles A. J. Farrar first published in 2012 by the Bethel Historical Society. This version of Krohn’s article includes color plates of the covers (and spines) of the four books in Farrar’s Lake and Forest Series. The article emphasizes Farrar’s contributions to the birth and growth of tourism in western Maine.
