About William S. Jenks

William S. Jenks, professor and chair, received his B.S. from UCLA in 1986. He attended Columbia University as an NSF Predoctoral Fellow and subsequently as a Division of Organic Chemistry (ACS) fellow, receiving his Ph.D. in 1991. After working as a postdoctoral fellow at Columbia, he joined the faculty at Iowa State in the fall of 1992. He was named a Cottrell Scholar by the Research Corporation in 1995 and received and NSF Career Award in 1996. Dr. Jenks received the Award for Excellence in Teaching from the LAS College in 2002 and for Excellence in Graduate Teaching in 2009.  He has served as Chair since 2011.
