Abstract

In some respects, recent years have been an excellent period for the UCC with 30 enactments of amended or revised Articles 1 and 7 as of October 13, 2005, with, in most cases, minimal non-uniform amendments. There has been some delay on introductions of the 2002 amendments to Articles 3 and 4 awaiting possible Federal Reserve Board action with respect to so-called demand drafts; this matter should be resolved in the near future and allow these amendments to proceed. In addition, most amended, revised, or new Articles have been adopted and there are a number of studies or plans for introduction in progress, all as demonstrated by the following legislative update.
