Despre Principele lui Machiavelli
Revista de Ştiinţe Politice şi Relaţii Internaţionale
(2014)
Abstract
With the intellectual refinement and elegance that characterizes
him, Prof. William J. Connell presents his new English translation of
Machiavelli’s Il Principe as a transposition which measures Machiavelli
in terms of the political and social context of Florence and Europe in the
Renaissance, which offers a more accurate account of the text and its
meanings and which is based on the interpretation that Machiavelli
wished to write a book that was shocking in an ironic way and that he
wished to show how complicated and unclear human action and its
motivations can be.
