Abstract
A critical issue in AI Ethics is about ensuring the rising potential of Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems remains beneficial for humanity. To respond to this problem, IEEE Standards Association launched the Global Initiative for Ethical Considerations in the Design of AI/AS (Global AI Ethics Initiative) for the purpose of developing the ethical guideline “Ethically Aligned Design (EAD),” which specifically aligns the creation of Artificial Intelligence with the values of its users and society. EAD version one was published December 2016 and its updated version will be published this December. As a member of the Law and Policy Committees at the IEEE Global AI Ethics Initiative, I would like to introduce EAD ver. 2 from a comparative and interdisciplinary perspective.
