International Legal Informatics Symposium (IRIS) (2017)

Abstract
As intelligent robots become increasingly common in human society, it will be essential to begin
incorporating ethical and legal factors into their design process. Hence, legislators and policy
makers should learn from the interdisciplinary concept of «Social System Design» in order
to better regulate social robots and their attendant AI-driven risks. This problem has many
facets, and as such suggests an interdisciplinary approach towards thinking about the design
of emerging intelligent machines.
