Abstract
Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan has endeavored to promote National Yuva Cooperative Society to harness & channelise the productivity capacity of youth and nation. Yuva means YOUTH. Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) is an autonomous organisation of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Central Government, India. The emergence of National Yuva Cooperative (NYC) is to launch countrywide economic ventures by the youth based on spirit of self help, participation and cooperation. It is based on the vision of a modern, powerful and technological India. The concept is to promote employment oriented and income generating activities through self help groups & micro-enterprises with a view to making the youth economically productive and improving their quality of life and in the process ensuring youth empowerment for a self reliant & developed India. This paper discusses salient feature of youth activities.
