Abstract
Over the years, the potential benefit of international diversification have been well-documented in the fiinance literature. However with the recently accelerated trend towards global integration. offinancial markets, the positive effects ofsuch international divers!fication efforts may have diminished. To address this issue, this study proFicles updated evidence on rhe benefits of international diversification and the consistency of correlations be- t\\leen the U.S. and other countries. While there is e1•idence of movements towards greater integration of some financial markets, a sufficient degree ofdiversity is still inherent inforeign stock markets, creating opportunitiesfor significant benefits.from international portfolio diversification.
