About Vitaly Ganusov

Vitaly Ganusov, assistant professor of microbiology, works on the mathematical modeling of immunological response to infectious diseases. Recently he was the corresponding author, with his student Jeremy Auerbach as co-author, of an article entitled “Mathematical Modeling Reveals Kinetics of Lymphocyte Recirculation in the Whole Organism” in the peer-reviewed, highly-rated journal PLoS Computational Biology. This is an important and seminal finding. For the first time we now have estimates of how quickly naive lymphocytes migrate to all major lymphoid and nonlymphoid tissues in the body and how quickly these cells exit the tissues back to circulation. Ganusov’s work is funded by the American Heart Association.
