Abstract
This chapter reports on research that explored the space between novice and expert professional knowledge to ascertain whether or not threshold concepts were present in this liminal space. The study explored the learning experiences of highly proficient novices, those who demonstrated expertlike practices and attributes, and discipline experts with more than 30 years professional experience, thus creating a centred study space for the liminality of expertise.
