Library 2.011 Worldwide Virtual Conference (2011)
  • Virginia M. Tucker, San Jose State University
Abstract
The evolving role of the public reference librarian includes handling a wide range of questions about legal information. In addition, the economic climate has dramatically increased demand for self-help legal information. The session will cover topics such as:
  • issues surrounding “legal information” vs. “legal advice”;
  • free--and trustworthy--online sources of legal information;
  • best practices and searching shortcuts for common legal questions.
