Abstract

Clemson University Libraries began loaning technology equipment in 2010 and the program has since grown to constitute 21% of all library loans. This session provided an overview of technology loan programs in South Carolina and at Clemson’s peer institutions, including a comparison of logistics and equipment types, and challenges including funding and sustainability. It also examined the institutional impact of the program at Clemson. Additionally, the session covered modifications made to the technology equipment program during the COVID-19 pandemic and identified current trends and expected future directions of the program.
