About Vikas Varma

Vikas Varma heads the private equity and cross-border transactional practice. He received his Masters of Laws (LL.M.) degree, with concentration in International Business Practice, from Boston University School of Law. At Boston University, he was the recipient of the "Sebastian Horsten Prize for Academic Achievement". His practice focuses on general corporate and business transaction law. Mr. Varma also advises clients on securities laws, private placement and Regulation-D offerings. He has extensive experience in structuring and negotiating share-purchase agreements, joint ventures and cross-border business transactions, with emphasis on investment in South Asia and India.
In India he practiced on corporate and commercial matters, and handled numerous joint venture transactions and mergers, for various Indian and multinational corporations. In India, he was associated with Seth Dua & Associates, a prominent corporate law firm of India, where his practice focused on cross-border joint ventures, foreign direct investment (FDI) and mergers and acquisitions. He also has considerable experience in Indian trademark and copyright laws. Mr. Varma has been recently selected to receive the "40 Under 40" Shaker Award from the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce and is a graduate of Leadership Orange.
