Effect of Temperature on Accurate Interpretation of Data from Piezoelectric Sensors
Proceedings of Engineering Mechanics

Abstract

The influence of temperature variations on the accuracy of measurements from piezoelectric sensors is investigated using data for four piezoceramics. It is shown, that voltage generated in the sensors can be represented by a product of two factors. The first factor depends on the properties of the piezoelectric material, while the second includes loads, thermally-induced stresses and the properties of the material of the structure. Numerical examples illustrate that the performance of all four piezoceramic sensors has been affected by temperature variations within the range -200 °C
