About Vicki Betts

Vicki Betts, retired professional librarian, was with The University of Texas at Tyler/Texas Eastern University since 1977. Her undergraduate major was history, graduating from East Texas State University in 1976 with an honors thesis on Smith County, Texas, in the Civil War. She has continued that interest in home front Civil War history and with Smith County history, especially indexing and using 19th and early 20th century newspapers.
