Abstract
This analysis identifies the genesis of the African revolutions in an altered ideological setting within the global polity and civil society after World War II. It examines eight cases: Kenya, Cameroon, Algeria, Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde, Mozambique, Angola, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.
