The National Survey of Student Engagement has identified the development of skills for effective and civil dialogue to be an area of growth at many institutions. This session will explore strategies for faculty to deploy when building student capacity to engage and respond ethically and gracefully to conflict and critique. Faculty attending this session will leave with tools to support these important skills and dispositions in this era of incivility. The facilitators will use panel discussion, short presentations, group discussion, and role play to involve the participants in the learning process.
