Improving Durability Performance of Prefabricated Bridge Deck Joints: What Do We Need to Know?

Abstract
This study investigates the effects of modular ratio of grout and precast member materials and interface friction properties on posttension stress distribution through deck panels. Recommendations for enhancing durability performance of joints are presented. Though the scope is limited, the findings, in general, are applicable to other precast systems that are connected using similar clamping mechanisms.
