Paper presented at the annual meeting of The American Educational Research Association Conference (AERA 2010)

The study investigated the following research questions: (1) How do preservice teachers feel about concept maps and benefits of their integration in social studies curriculum? (2) What types of concepts maps related to social sciences, preservice teachers prefer to create? Why? (3) How do preservice teachers feel about their preparation to utilize concept maps in their teacher education program? A total of 244 preservice teachers (118 female & 126 male) who enrolled one of the four sections of f SIN308 - Teaching Social Studies in Elementary Schools.
