Abstract
The paper proposes a framework with common guidelines for a successful and effective data collection method for an educational data mining research. The framework identifies potential issues and methodologies to overcome some key challenges by ensuring an efficient and comprehensive data collection. Further, these proposals include useful validation techniques to ensure the minimal redundancy and internal consistency of the data.
