About Tylon Crook

Tylon Crook, Ph.D., NCC, is Clinical Assistant Professor of Counselor Education in the College of Education & Human Development at Sacred Heart University. Dr. Crook has both clinical and educational experience in counseling and is a national board-certified counselor is multiple state. He has been a counselor educator for over 12 years and school and mental counselor in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Ohio.

Dr. Crook is published in such journals as The Family Journal, Journal of Counselor Practice and Journal of Counselor Leadership and Advocacy. His research focuses on mental health counseling in schools, race-based trauma, social justice advocacy in school counseling and school counselor supervision. He is a member of many organizations including, American School Association, American Counseling Association and Association of Counselor Education & Supervision.

He earned his master’s degree in mental health/school counseling from Mississippi State University and his doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Auburn University.
