About Troy Seidle, PhD

Troy Seidle is Vice President of Humane Society International’s Research & Toxicology Department, where he leads a global team of scientists, political and regulatory specialists, who work with governments and companies to promote the replacement, reduction and refinement of animal-based approaches in toxicology and bioscience research, and lay the foundation for a shift in paradigm to an entirely human biology-based approach. Seidle serves on a number of influential committees at national and international levels, including those of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the European Commission and Chemicals Agency, and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. He was also a driving force behind the European coordination project, AXLR8 (pronounced “accelerate”), which served as a strategic bridge for international research teams working to advance the US National Research Council’s vision of Toxicity Testing in the 21st Century.
