About Trisha M. Saul, PhD, RN-BC

Dr. Saul has been a nurse for 15 years and has a variety of experience in evidence-based practice and research. She has worked in an assortment of settings in both acute care and long term care.  Areas of nursing include medical, surgical, telemetry, oncology, same day surgery and GI lab. She is nationally certified in pain management.

Dr. Saul has studied purposefully hourly rounding and it impact of pain management, compassion, teamwork and hourly rounding scores on an oncology unit. Additionally, she has collaborated with an oncology nurse to promote uninterrupted medication administration to decrease interruptions and medication errors.

Currently, Dr. Saul’s research interests includes the knowledge, attitudes and use of complementary and alternative medicine in both the nursing population as well as the caregivers of patients who have lung cancer. Understanding HRQOL and psychological well-being of caregivers is what she is passionate about.
