About Dr Trish Dowsett

Dr Trish Dowsett is a Research Fellow in Assessment Development at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). She joined ACER having been a lecturer in Secondary English Education at Edith Cowan University. Prior to this, Trish taught English and Literature at the secondary and tertiary levels. In 2016, she was awarded a PhD from the University of Western Australia for The History of Curricular Control: Literary Education in Western Australia, 1912-2012. Further to this, she has researched the secondary English text lists and contributed to Required Reading: Literature in Australian Schools since 1945 (2017). Trish has also written for English in Australia, Insight Publications and Reading Australia.
