About Traci Gerner MS, OTR/L

Traci works at St. Catherine University as an Assistant Professor in the Online Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.

Traci has been a practicing registered occupational therapist since 1997.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Mary University (MMU) in Wauwatosa, WI. She later went back to MMU to further her education, graduating with her Master of Science degree with a focus on higher education teaching.

Traci began her career in acute care and then moved into school-based practice. She has continued to practice for the past 24 years, working in various public schools, private schools, charter schools, Indian reservations, day treatment schools, and specialty programs.  Traci began teaching 10 years ago as an adjunct instructor and then transitioned into a full-time faculty position, working in colleges in Illinois and Missouri, teaching both in the traditional brick-and-mortar setting and online.  For the past 7 years, Traci has also worked as a teletherapist providing virtual services to students in 8 different states and acting as the Mental Health and OT Managing Lead, School Liaison and Manager of Clinical Operations, providing support to therapists new to the field of teletherapy.

Traci resides in Arkansas with her husband and has three young adult children.  Traci enjoys spending time with her family outdoors and can be found hiking, biking, swimming, skiing, or kayaking.
