About Tonya Haynes

Tonya Haynes joined the UMSL College of Nursing as a full-time faculty member from Barnes-Jewish Hospital. There, she served as an advanced practice nurse and as a practice specialist in acute care medicine. Tonya’s experience as a clinician and nurse leader in the acute care setting has equipped her with a strong foundation in practice and quality improvement. 

She has served as adjunct faculty at the CON since 2013. Tonya works as one of the faculty in the lab and simulation center in addition to other teaching responsibilities. She obtained a DNP degree from Chatham University, an MSN degree from Barnes-Jewish College of Nursing, and a BSN degree from Truman State University.
