Director of First Year Writing Program and Associate Professor of English, Department of English
Dr. Pace joined the JCU faculty in 2002 after completing his doctorate at Miami University of Ohio with a specialty in Composition and Rhetoric and Renaissance studies. He received his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Louisville. He teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses: Composition and Rhetoric I and II, Advanced Writing, Studies in Rhetoric and Composition, Major British Writers, Major American Writers, Popular Film and American Culture, Professional Writing, and Rhetoric and Education in Renaissance Lyric. Dr. Pace also directs the English department’s Professional Writing major, and his research interests revolve around the history and theory of teaching writing and rhetoric, especially stylistics. He is the co-editor of Refiguring Prose Style: Possibilities in Writing Pedagogy (Utah University Press).
