(2012)

Abstract

An understanding of Native American culture is essential for counselors who work with Native Americans. Opinions of a sample of Native and non-Native counselors and related professionals who specialize in counseling Native Americans were examined by means of an internet survey. The survey asked participants to identify the books, videos, movies, and other resources they would recommend for non-Native American counselors, in order to help them better understand Native Americans. The specific recommended resources are listed in this paper, including books, professional training videos for counselors, motion pictures, and other resources.
