Professor Lintner's research focuses on the intersections between social studies and special education, with a particular emphasis on students with learning disabilities. His research examines how K-12 teachers can design and deliver challenging, relevant, and meaningful social studies curriculum and instruction for all students in the general education classroom. As more students with learning disabilities access social studies content in inclusive settings when compared to all other content areas, it is therefore imperative that general educators utilize evidence-based practices to reach and teach all students.
Professor Lintner received his Ph.D. in Comparative and Social Sciences Education from UCLA. He received an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and a BS in history from Northern Arizona University. He taught high school social studies in Los Angeles, CA for several years before entering higher education.
