Dr. Miller is board certified in Geriatric Physical Therapy from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialization (ABPTS). Dr. Miller an APTA credentialed Clinical Instructor.
Scholarly Activities and Interests
Dr. Miller's educational research interests focus on educational technology, the scholarship of teaching and learning, hybrid education, and simulation.
Dr. Miller is the principle investigator on a $10,000 educational research grant: Can in-patient simulation labs prepare physical therapy and occupational therapy students for inpatient environments (January 2015-Present).
Dr. Miller is also the lead author of a Special Interest Poster presented at the 2013 APTA national conference titled “Physical Therapy for a patient 7 years status post stroke without previous rehabilitation.”
He presented at the APTA Educational Research Conference (ELC) in October 2014: Why just flip your classroom when you can transform it? The redesign of 3 lecture-based classes and 3 lab-based classes from traditional to hybrid.

Dr. Miller has been an APTA member since 2004, and is a current member of the Geriatric and Education sections. He is an active member of the Education Section - Academic Faculty SIG, as well as the ACAPT Education and Pedagogy Consortium. Dr. Miller has been an invited speaker on active learning strategies and the use of educational technology at two Academic Faculty SIG meetings (ELC 2014, CSM 2016).
He has served as a CSM abstract reviewer for the Geriatrics Section and as a Capstone Project Advisor for the tDPT programs of The University of Montana and The University of South Florida.
