About Timothy Harper

Timothy Harper is a writing coach and Craft professor at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. An award-winning journalist and author, he has published 12 books and hundreds of magazine articles in major publications in the United States and abroad. He has served as an editorial consultant and writing coach for individual authors and for corporate clients such as Intel, Alcoa, Time Inc., Newsweek, Pfizer, Reuters, British Telecom, Brooklyn Brewery, Brown Publishing, Robert Marston Associates, the Steamboat Foundation and a number of Wall Street institutions.
Tim also advises on how to get books written and published: biography, autobiography, corporate history, tribute books, novels. He can be a book coach to help you write and publish your book. The book, published by St. Martin's Press, includes chapters from two dozen of American's most successful independent journalists, all focusing on how to make money from freelance writing. Tim and his American Society of Journalists and Authors colleagues around the country are happy to speak at local libraries, bookstores, colleges or civic organizations on making a living as a freelance writer.
