Abstract
Since the start of insurance reform on autism diagnosis and treatment coverage in 2001, 47 out of 50 states have passed relevant legal mandate applied to private health insurance companies, and 11 states have made one amendment after the legislation was activated. This paper provides an overview of autism insurance reform, discusses its business impacts, and suggests areas of future research.
