About Thomas Vacek, MD

Dr. Vacek earned his medical doctorate from University of Louisville School of Medicine, followed by a residency in internal medicine at University of Toledo Medical Center and a cardiology fellowship at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Vacek also holds a master of science degree in physiology and biophysics from University of Louisville and a bachelor of arts in general biology from Cornell University. In addition, he recently completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Wayne State University, in Detroit.

Dr. Vacek is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has extensive research experience in cardiovascular disease, both at the molecular and clinical levels, and has published a number of peer-reviewed articles to help advance the field of cardiology.

Dr. Vacek frequently lectures on cardiovascular disease at national and international medical conferences, and serves as a mentor to medical students and physicians-in-training. His care philosophy is, to address the cardiovascular needs of my patients, with the goal of helping them to achieve pain relief and live healthier, longer lives.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Vacek enjoys spending time hiking, biking, and traveling.
