Nationalist Smelters and Cuban Guerrillas: The Bolivian Revolution through the Eyes of Czechoslovakia
Cold War International History Project (2016)
  • Thomas Field, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Abstract
Field examines the political relationship between Bolivia and Czechoslovak Socialist Republic in the 1960s, and the U.S./CIA reaction to that relationship. He examines the Third World nature of Bolivia's politics since World War II, and advocates for a thorough examination of evidence from outside the 'Cold War' historiographic lens to consider the anti-imperialist aspects of Latin America's foreign relations.
