About Theodore Van Alst, Jr.

Theodore C. Van Alst, Jr. is Associate Professor and Director of Indigenous Nations Studies at the Portland State University. He is co-editor and Creative Editor for Transmotion (an on-line journal of postmodern indigenous studies). His short story collection about sort of growing up in Chicago, Sacred Smokes, was published in August of 2018 by the University of New Mexico Press. His fiction and photography have been published in The Rumpus, Entropy, The Raven ChroniclesElectric Literature, High Desert Journal, Yellow Medicine ReviewUnnerving Magazine, and Indian Country Today, among others.
