Abstract
Drawing upon historical and contemporary precedents, this paper will illustrate the manner in which landscape architects and planners can enhance ecosystem health and cultural well-being by collaborating with architects and other building/construction professionals from the outset of the design process. We will also demonstrate in concrete terms how site interventions alone can achieve significant LEED credits while integrating built projects with biophysical systems.
