In 1985, videotaped interviews were conducted with Vietnam veterans in Kentucky for the purpose of producing a television documentary. "Long Road Back: Vietnam Remembered" was produced by the University of Kentucky Office of Instructional Resources and broadcast on Kentucky Educational Television in November 1985. Many audiotape interviews have been added to the collection since 1985, including several with veterans from the Bardstown area. Interviews document veterans' experiences, including boot camp, in-country survival, and medical care available to combat troops.
