Fifty Specialty Libraries of New York City: From Botany to Magic(2016)
Fifty Specialty Libraries of New York City is a personal journey through the surprising resources of the city, including three libraries that have been in continuous operation since 1820. Highlights include the Explorers Club, which keeps lantern slides of Theodore Roosevelt's expeditions, the Players Club, which contains the papers of Edwin Booth, and the Poets House, which houses e.e. cummings’ writing desk. All libraries are available to the interested researcher, although some need advance notice. All libraries are easy to access through public transportation. This is a book for people who love New York and people who love libraries.
