About Terence Mitchell

Dr. Terry Mitchell is director of the gross anatomy lab and associate professor of anatomy. He teaches anatomy, embryology, and histology to first and second year medical students. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has trained in medical education and comparative anatomy at Duke University. His postdoctoral work at The Johns Hopkins Medical Institute focused on sensorimotor transformations in gymnotiform fishes and the use of mobile technology for the review of basic science material in first and second year medical students.

Dr. Mitchell is in the process of building a donor program, which would allow individuals to bequeath their bodies to Campbell University for medical education. He is also interested incorporating emerging and established technology into the anatomical sciences including 3D printing, high definition videography for prossections, and synthetic cadavers.
