Approaching Societies in Conflict: Workshop Report
(2010)
  • Center for Stabilization and Reconstruction Studies (CSRS)
Abstract
This is a report of a three-day workshop organized by the Center for Stabilization and Reconstruction Studies (CSRS) in California and designed and delivered by Tatsushi Arai. The workshop brought together experienced professionals working in government agencies, intergovernmental agencies, and civil society organizations in the United States and diverse conflict-affected countries and regions. Using an elicitive, experiential method of participant-led learning, the workshop explored how to analyze the sources of deep-rooted social conflict, how to make use of conflict analysis to diplomacy, mediation, development assistance, humanitarian relief, and other contexts of interest to the participants. The CSRS authored the report.
