Dr. Reavis is a scholar-practitioner who studies the relationship between social inequality and educational opportunity. She examines the ways in which race, class, gender, and policy decisions impact the educational experiences and outcomes for Students of Color and low-income students in both K-12 and in higher education. Reavis is especially interested in issues of college student access, college choice, and completion for underrepresented communities; Black women and college success; Black women in leadership. Her scholarship engages in critical theory, critical qualitative research, and sociology of education.
