FIRM RISK AND PERFORMANCE IN THE ROLE OF CORPORATE GOVERNANCE : HONG LEONG BANK BERHAD

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the corporate governance and its impact on bank’s performance as well as examine the relationship between risk factors and profitability of the Hong Leong Bank Berhad. The data is collected from the annual report of Hong Leong Bank Berhad starting from year 2011 to year 2015. The collected data is analyze through the system of SPSS. To measure the profitability of the bank, return on assets (ROA) become the important factor to see the overall performance. In this study, debt ratio become the important risk factor to analyze the profitability. The regression analysis shows that the variable of debt ratio shows the significant relationship with the profitability. The implications of these findings are discussed.
