Abstract

High water and quick-setting (HWQS) cementitious material is used in several underground mines to produce relatively strong backfill with considerable early strength. This paper presents the investigations undertaken to define properties of HWQS based backfill made with highly saline mine water and with highly saline gold mill tailings.
