About Sydney A. Beckman

Professor Sydney Beckman is an experienced trial lawyer and educator and is an expert in Evidence. He teaches Evidence, Advanced Evidence, Digital Evidence, Technology and the Law, and several other courses at the Lincoln Memorial University School of Law.

He frequently lectures at law schools and universities across the country on the effective use of interactive technology for teaching, assessment, and engagement. He has authored dozens of articles and numerous books on Evidence, Trial Advocacy, Family Law, and Magic and the Law.

Prior to becoming a full-time educator, Professor Beckman was a partner with the firm of Goodman, Clark and Beckman in Arlington, Texas and also served as a Municipal Judge Pro Tem for the City of Fort Worth. He is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, is a member of the Texas Bar, and is admitted to the Northern District of Texas.

In his youth, Professor Beckman was an active hacker and engaged with the worldwide hacking and phone phreaking community. He ran what was the largest electronic bulletin board systems for the hacking community.
