Abstract
With the growing interest and demand for more clinical interventions addressing spiritual health, many recreation therapists are not trained to have the understanding the concept of spiritual well-being or the confidence to implement spiritual-focused interventions. The purpose of this session is to share the knowledge of what spiritual well-being is and how recreation therapists can implement spiritual interventions into their own clinical practices. Using research from a Master’s thesis as a foundation, this session will cover treatment demands and trends, current research in spirituality and leisure, outcomes of this study, and how to plan and implement spiritual interventions.

Learning Objectives: Recognize the definition of four important terms related to spirituality and spiritual well-being; Identify four aspects of spiritual wellness that can be operationalized into RT practice; Describe three RT spiritual interventions, which could be added to RT practice in order to address the clients’ unmet spiritual needs.
