Getting more women to run for office is a nationwide challenge. Despite progress in many areas, the gender gap in political leadership persists with men being more likely than women to be viewed as leaders. Here in Utah we feel this acutely, as there has never had a woman elected Governor or a US Senator, and we have lower percentages of women in county and municipal elected positions compared to nationwide averages.
